Pros and cons of BoatBook Sailing Log & LogBook app for iPhone and iPad

BoatBook Sailing Log & LogBook app good for

This sailing app records everything I want to know about my boat/crew performance. It allows me to trace every step of my race from start to finish! Love this app!
First the good: Its really easy to use for basix information: distance, speed, duration Then the bad: Ive not yet found a way to avoid having it start when I cross a bridge by car if its on. Hence Ive named the car as a boat... Then the ugly: So far now way found to add up the log parts. I did 450 nm in 4 days last summer and would love a joint logmap - no can do...
A big step in the right direction. Especially the battery optimization and delete options.

Some bad moments

App does not start automatically. It cannot be started manually. Support team does not react to any request.
It is a good attempt on sail logging however their share icon doesnt work most of the time plus I cannot see all of my sailing I have on the app when I log into my account on desktop.
I have to admit I was a little bit sceptic that the app will work automatically as it says. But my boat trip was completely logged, and I now, (finally), have an app to track my trips and I can share them to my friends ;) great app .
For so long. Having such a passion for Sailing my yacht I always look for new gadgets I can use. Have been using this one the last couple of trips and I just love reviewing my trip when I get back. Great job!
I downloaded the app this weekend and tried it for a sail on my Cal 39 yesterday. It’s a cool idea but the app requires location services to be on all the time (in order for it to know when you leave and return to the dock) and it seems to be drawing an inordinate amount of data and battery from my iPhone. At several points during from the sail it recorded my speed at up to 9.5 knots but I never saw anything above 7.5 from the on board GPS. The graphics are cool and the sail track map is neat but this may not be ready for primetime.
Downloaded this app to keep track of my sailing on Lake Tahoe only to find out that it doesnt work on fresh water. Wish I would have known that before I downloaded it and spent two days sailing trying to figure out why it didnt work.
